I folded the page
where we left off...
A story has stalled
waiting for your return.
If that day
should never come
I will take that book
from my dusty shelf
and will read to no one.
Remembering the good,
Forgetting the wrongs;
The past chapters
will never change.
And if we find
our Wonderland
amongst the rabbit holes,
I will read
to you
once
more.
Made a decision. Went to Los Angeles.
Life feels topsy turvy. See my friends. See Nine Inch Nails at the Wiltern.
Fly home. See girlfriend.
Weekend plans canceled. We are taking a break.
Book screenings for Vancouver International Film Festival. 13 films. That'll keep me busy in October.
See 9, Ponyo and Inglourious Basterds. Only the first of those three sucks. The second is enjoyable. The third is my second screening. It's amazing. Phenomenal.
Home again. Laundry drying.
Lunch with Kris.
I am in limbo.
I am gone.
If you don't know the above quote, then you probably are in desperate need of a film education. Or at least, you haven't hung out with me for too long. Or like my girlfriend, C, totally not interested.
Speaking of C, she was surprised that I deactivated my Facebook account (as many others no doubt are too). I had talked about doing so a little while ago, but didn't really make any moves towards doing so. Saturday came, and I just felt it was time. Anyhow, it is nice to be able to surprise the person you care about more than the others.
I've been listening to the stereo remasters of The Beatles. Holy flip. It's like discovering an old friend that you knew pretty well, but there are now new facets to this person that give you a deeper connection. Or something. I have a serious crush on The Beatles right now. No, I didn't pay for said music, but I am seriously considering buying the box set eventually. I don't even care for owning physical albums anymore either (well unless it's a kickass Canadian artist)...
Spent the afternoon watching the fabled 13th episode of Dollhouse season one and the latest episode of Mad Men. Both well worth the time - usually I won't say this, but that episode of Dollhouse was actually more interesting than the latest episode of MM (which happens to be my favourite show airing these days).
After having 48 hours free of Facebook, I have to admit, that it could be increasingly easier. I'm going to watch Guy Ritchie's last great film, Snatch now.
I have spent entirely too much time on facebook, and to what end?
Sure I have come up with some occasionally witty status lines and made some snarky comments to people that I know, but at the end of the day, I find myself patrolling the site, looking for amyriad of things to waste my time with.
I needed to stop.
So I did. On Saturday, September 5, 2009, I suspended my account. I don't know how long the suspension will last, nor does it matter. I have neglected my photoblog, which was supposed to be a regular thing. I have neglected my first love, livejournal. I am going to try and get back to both, and maybe, even use this site more regularly.
If you feel the need to keep up with my day to day goings on, then perhaps following my twitter feed would help you. I find tweeting is simple, painless and often easy to catch up on.
Today, C and I went and walked down to the end of the Albion Ferry ramp.
They are still wasting electricity there. Go figure.
